A Fearing Place tells the story of a dying 1%er outlaw motorcycle club known as The Jokers. Their longtime president, Irish Bob, has recently died from a rare disease, while the club’s current president, Mother, has grown burned out and disillusioned with club life.
When Mother is released from the only job he has ever known, he remembers an offer once made by Red, the Jokers’ Master-at-Arms. Mother seeks him out, and together they devise a plan: stage a memorial run back East, carrying a funeral urn filled not with ashes, but with pure, high-grade crystal meth.
Their plan is to follow Route 66, where motorcycles are a common sight, recruit a few club members to serve as soldiers along the way, and deliver the drugs to an Eastern chapter of the Jokers, splitting whatever profits they make.
But the run begins to unravel. Betrayal and suspicion creep into the ranks, loyalties are questioned, and long-held tensions come to the surface. Everything finally erupts inside a roadside diner as an immense electrical storm rages outside.
What began as one last ride becomes a dangerous reckoning in which no one is quite sure whom they can trust.
